Overview
Vertical Planter Design:
Capacity: Supports 50 plants across six stackable tiers, with 45 planting pockets around the sides (large enough for compact root vegetables like carrots, turnips, and radishes) and space for up to 5 taller plants on top.
Dimensions: Stands 43 inches tall (approximately 3 feet 7 inches) and is 24.5 inches wide, weighing 36 pounds empty and up to 220 pounds when filled with moist soil.
Rotating Base: A 360-degree rotating track allows easy access to all plants and ensures optimal sunlight exposure by pivoting the tower.
Space Efficiency: Grows 50 plants in just 4 square feet, compared to 50 square feet needed for equivalent yield in traditional square-foot gardening.
Integrated Vermicomposting System:
Central Compost Tube: A perforated column runs through the center, where kitchen scraps and half a cup of composting worms (e.g., red wigglers) are added. Worms convert scraps into nutrient-rich compost, which plant roots can directly access through perforations.
Nutrient Recycling: Unlike traditional containers where over 90% of nutrients are lost below the root zone, the Garden Tower 2 recycles nutrients via gravity-driven water flow, delivering them to plant roots for hydroponic-like growth rates without the complexity or cost of hydroponics.
Compost Drawer: A 2-gallon drawer at the base collects "nutrient tea" (leachate) and finished compost, which can be reused in the tower or other gardens. Compost can be harvested every 90 days during growing seasons.
Supported Waste: Accepts vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, tea leaves, crushed eggshells, paper products, lawn clippings, and more, reducing kitchen waste volume by 10-20 times.
Materials and Durability:
Construction: Made from 100% UV-stable, food-grade, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, free of BPA, PVC, and other toxins. Uses FDA-approved dye and a UV-protection antioxidant package for durability and recyclability.
Warranty: Backed by a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty, with an expected lifespan of approximately 12 years.
Made in the USA: 99% of components are manufactured in Indiana, with 0.5% from Pennsylvania, ensuring high-quality production.
Water and Nutrient Efficiency:
Watering: Requires 4-6 gallons of water every 2-3 days during peak growing season (less in spring, fall, or winter). Water is poured from the top, and gravity distributes it through soil levels, minimizing waste. Excess water is captured in the drawer for reuse.
Soil Longevity: Internal shelves prevent soil compaction, extending potting soil life to several years. Light, fluffy soil is recommended for optimal aeration.
Worm Activity: Worms aerate soil and compost, creating pathways for nutrient transport and enhancing soil structure. Worms self-regulate their population, requiring minimal maintenance (a handful of scraps every few days).
Optional Accessories:
Premium Caster Wheel Kit: Includes heavy-duty, double-locking casters and a powder-coated steel support structure to move the 220-pound tower on hard surfaces. Casters must be used with the kit to avoid damage.
Extension Kit: Adds two tiers, increasing capacity to 70 plants, though recommended for experienced users due to reduced stability and increased watering complexity.
Mini Tower Plower: A smaller, USA-made gardening tool for precise planting and maintenance within the tower
